Playground Design Estimator
Harlequin Playgrounds are a leading provider of playground and sports installations, working with councils, schools and commercial clients across the UK. Following substantial growth, we are looking to expand our team and have an exciting new opportunity for a Design Estimator to join our team.
The main function of this role will be to design 2D site plans and layouts of playground and sports projects, alongside pricing these projects for our clients using a company pricing structure. Design experience is essential; however, we can provide training on estimating and pricing. We are looking for someone with passion and creativity to help us design play areas that pack maximum play value into the space, whilst ensuring compliance and safety is paramount.
The role will be based at our offices in Cricklade, Swindon, working within our small team.
Responsibilities

Take measurements provided by Sales to plot out the area for the project

Working from the brief provided, develop a site plan using 2D dwg models from our suppliers to create a fun and functional sports or play space

Price the scheme using our estimating system and obtaining quotations from suppliers to put together a full quotation for the project

Responsible for the overall design and costs at tender stage

Developing schemes that are value for money for the client and within set budgets

Building a library/database of information to streamline future pricing and design

Requirements
-
Minimum 3 years’ experience in space planning/2D CAD design (would consider less with a strong estimating background)

Highly proficient using CAD / SketchUp or similar software
-
Highly proficient in Excel
-
Ability to manage multiple projects
-
Excellent organization and time management skills
-
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a small team

UK Driving License due to client meetings and rural location

Desirable skills
-
Experience in estimating/quantity surveying
-
Experience working in the play/landscaping/groundworks/construction industry
-
Experience in 3D design
